General Description: We are looking for a strong leader to take the role of General Manager(Managing Director designate) for a leading travel search aggregator. Our client, owned by a NASDAQ listed Internet media company, requires a results orientated manager to execute aggressive growth plans, taking full responsibility for the marketing, PR, business development, web production, and P/L management across Europe. A small existing European team will report into this position with a remit to grow the team. You will work closely with the senior management of our client’s sister business which has already established itself as a leader and innovator in it’s field, in order to leverage their existing market position.
The ideal candidate will have:
- proven leadership skills that have previously contributed to the development of strong teams and business success
- successful marketing and/or public relations focus at a senior level within Europe
- experience in online or travel distribution. Experience at a start up is a plus.
- knowledge of one or more continental European language. This is preferred, but not essential.
- an entrepreneurial mindset
The aim is to launch rapidly across many European markets, dominating in the meta search arena. It is therefore essential that the General Manager is comfortable working across key markets, most importantly Germany. The European head office is in London, but there are also offices in France, Germany and Spain with flexible working a possibility, as there would be a need to travel between these key European locations
