Many business travelers meet 1000ââ¬â¢s of people at tradeshows and conferences every year but can remember less than 5% of them by the time they are in a taxi on their way back to the airport.
A business travel network has announced the launch of its new ââ¬ÅâTradeshow & Eventsââ¬~ section where attendees and exhibitors can connect and re-connect.
The site is located at www.skylounge.com and concentrates on business travelers that want to network before, during and after their trips.
At a click of a button you can add contacts to your network, invite others and indicate that you are attending a specific event.
If a person in your network is going to the same tradeshow, you will automatically receive a ââ¬Åâshow alertââ¬~ which is sent directly to your email address.
ââ¬ÅâHaving attended dozens of tradeshows I can honestly tell you that I remember less than 1% of the people I met over the years.ââ¬~ said founder Marcel van Gemerden ââ¬ÅâBeing able to see who is attending or who attended an event creates an opportunity or a second chanceââ¬~.
SkyLounge turns business cards into visual profiles.
ââ¬ÅâI collected 1000ââ¬â¢s of business cards over the years but always found it hard to organize themââ¬~ said special events manager of Hotel de Crillon (Paris), Cathalina Thorell.
ââ¬ÅâNow when I get back from a show I can upload every email address into SkyLounge."
"It automatically adds current members to my network and I can invite the rest."
This new function will save me 100ââ¬â¢s of hours a year as everything is perfectly organized for meââ¬~. "Iââ¬â¢m very good at remembering faces but when you meet 100ââ¬â¢s of people it just becomes impossibleââ¬~.
The site displays relevant events to its members.
ââ¬ÅâIf youââ¬â¢re a doctor you will see healthcare & medical related events on your home page. van Gemerden said. ââ¬ÅâYou can click on an event and see who is attending." "It does not only give you up to date information but also creates networking opportunities." "Adding an industry targeted event is free!ââ¬~
