TUI Travel new media boss Graham Donoghue is to leave the operator to head Travelsupermakret.com.
He will replace Chris Nixon as managing director of the online company.
Donoghue, the architect of Thomsonââ¬â¢s online strategy, is due to join the price comparison company in July.
After a short handover, current acting managing director Chris Nixon will be leaving the group on a sabbatical of up to one year, after which he is expected to return to take up an alternative post in the business.
"Donoghue will bring more than 15 years experience in the travel industry to the new role. After an initial focus on understanding the groupââ¬â¢s business model, his key responsibilities will be to pick up the baton from Chris Nixon and to grow and develop the business," a statement said.
Donoghue said: ââ¬ÅâI am really excited to be working for a business with such a focus on innovation and entrepreneurialism.
"Still a young plc, the business has achieved so much in such a short space of time. I am looking forward to applying my experience and knowledge of the travel industry to the company.ââ¬~
Simon Nixon, chief executive of Moneysupermarket.com group, said: ââ¬ÅâI am delighted we have attracted such a talent to the moneysupermarket.com group.
"Grahamââ¬â¢s reputation precedes him, I know how well respected he is within the travel sector and I look forward to working with him.ââ¬~
David Burling, tour operations director, TUI UK & Ireland, said: ââ¬ÅâAfter eight years, Graham Donoghue has decided to leave the business to take up an opportunity.
"During his time with TUI, Graham has led the development of the e-commerce business first within Thomson and more recently TUI UK - making us the biggest online travel company in the UK.
'He has been involved in numerous other initiatives and his overall energy and enthusiasm will be missed across the whole business.
'Graham leaves behind a very strong and experienced team who I am confident will continue to deliver against an ambitious new media agenda.ââ¬~
