Traveltek promotes Orr amid growth plans

Kirsty Orr has been promoted by Traveltek to the newly created role of deputy managing director.

She has been with the Glasgow-based technology firm for a year and was most recently operations director. Orr continues to report to managing director Kenny Picken.

Traveltek is aiming to quadruple the size of its business this year, from Ã&#pound;150 million in customersââ¬â¢ transactions in 2007 to more than Ã&#pound;600 million this year.

Picken said: ââ¬ÅâœWe are firmly already on target to reach this ambitious target after seeing dynamic packaging transactions increase by more than 350% in the first four months of 2008.

"This coupled with the launch of iBos, our fully integrated web-based agency management and selling system, at the beginning of the year, means that Traveltek is on course to significantly grow its marketshare in 2008."

He added:"Kirstyââ¬â¢s new role is a key element of our aggressive growth plan over the next weeks, months and years.

"Due to increasing pressures on my time itââ¬â¢s become imperative to have another senior person within the business who can take on the day-to-day running of the teams in our multiple locations.

"Her existing role was developing in this direction naturally, so we made the position formal at our last board meeting."
