Club Med upgrades winter sports resorts

Upgraded properties feature in Club Medââ¬â¢s 2008-09 ski brochure as the operator targets more family winter sports enthusiasts.

Free places for children aged up to three years feature in the programme which covers 22 resorts. Sixteen offer childrenââ¬â¢s clubs and family facilities.

Early booking discounts of ã100 per adult and ã50 per child aged four to 11 are available before October 31. Ski passes and tuition are included.

As part of a move up market, the operator will have completed the refurbishment of Tignes Val Claret in the French Alps by this winter. The re-design of the hotel, from the bar and restaurant to the bedrooms, has been made to bring the property into the top end of Club Medââ¬â¢s portfolio.

The resort of Chamonix Mont-Blanc will be opening a Baby Club Med for those aged between four and 23 months. Outside there will also be a ââ¬Ëœsnow playgroundââ¬â¢ for toddlers.

Other resorts to have been upgraded include Avoriaz, which last year underwent extensive renovation and refurbishment.

The refurbished Deux Alpes in France offers 257 rooms, many of which are interconnecting for families.

Both resorts offer Club Med Baby Welcome, Mini Club Med, Juniorsââ¬â¢ Club Med and a Club Med Champions Academy.

Seven nights at Tignes val Claret starts at ã879 per adult and ã750 a child. Seven nights at Chamonix lead-in at ã829 per adult, and ã707 per child. Both include return flights and transfers, accommodation in a Club room, based on two sharing, all meals with wine, beer and soft drinks, open bar and snacks as well as ski passes and tuition.
