HAL previews new ship to UK trade

Holland America Lineââ¬â¢s new addition Eurodam is to be showcased to the UK travel industry tomorrow (Friday).

The 2,104-passenger ship will be in Southampton for an overnight preview prior to its formal naming in Holland on July 1.

The lineââ¬â¢s 14th vessel is the first in the new Signature class and features an additional deck with 63 new cabins over HALââ¬â¢s latest Vista-class vessels.

Amongst the new cabins are 47 with balconies and 10 with ceiling to floor and wall to wall panoramic windows.

The ship also includes 56 spa cabins, located close to the shipââ¬â¢s Greenhouse Spa and Salon and featuring in-room spa amenities.

The 1,052 cabins on Eurodam include flat-panel TVs, DVD players, robes, make-up mirrors and hair dryers.

A new pan-Asian restaurant and bar called Tamarind and Silk Den is introduced to the ship alongside an Explorerââ¬â¢s lounge bar, atrium bar area and reconfigured show lounge.

The premium lineââ¬â¢s new ship is to be named in Rotterdam by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands before setting sail on its maiden voyage from Copenhagen on July 5 to Oslo, Alesund, Vik, Flam, Stavanger, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Invergordon.

Eurodam will then transfer to operate in Canada and New England in the autumn and the Caribbean in winter 2008-09.
