A Royal Navy diver will assist singer Myleen Klass with the naming of new ship Carnival Splendor next week in Dover.
A deep sea marine diver will be involved in the ceremony to mark the introduction of the 113,000-tonne vessel on July 10.
He will emerge from underwater and climb 60ft to reach the shipââ¬â¢s name on the top of its bow.
He will undertake the godmotherââ¬â¢s command and smash against the hull a bottle of vintage Nyetimber English sparkling wine, chosen by Carnival to emphasise its selection of Britain to launch its largest superliner.
Immediately after the naming, Carnival Splendor sets sail for a three day preview cruise to Amsterdam, returning to Dover on July 13.
It will depart on the same day for its official inaugural 12-day cruise to the Baltic countries, visiting Copenhagen; Warnemunde (for Berlin); Helsinki; St Petersburg; Tallinn and Amsterdam.
