Azamara modifies Asia itineraries

Azamara Cruises has modified its 2008-09 itineraries to get closer to several cities in Thailand and Vietnam.

The smaller size of the 694-guest Azamara Quest, which will begin sailing in Asia in December, allows the vessel to access ports inaccessible to larger cruise ships.

Azamara Quest will sail to new dock locations in Bangkok (Klong Toey), Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi (Ha Long Bay).

The line is replacing calls to Fukuoka, Japan, with overnight, in-port stays in Shanghai, China.

The company is also adding additional time to explore Hue (Danang) Vietnam, and Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

An overnight shore excursion to Siem Reap, the location of the famous temples of Angkor Wat, will be offered in Cambodia.

The changes were originally planned for the 2009-10 Asia season, but have been brought forward by a year.
