LONDON - Abercrombie & Kent has created a new portfolio of fifteen Extreme Adventures, ââ¬Åâa collection of expeditions in the true Amundsen, Columbus, Hillary and Shackleton sense of the wordââ¬~.
Each is ââ¬Åâdesigned to include extreme experiences and guaranteed to push each client to the limitââ¬~, says A&K.
Experiences include guiding a team of huskies through the Taiga forest in Northern Norway; bracing against the G-force in a vertical 60,000ft climb in the cockpit of a fighter jet; looking out over the immense wilderness of Antarctica, or turning the safari clock back a 100 years and cruising down Tanzania's wild Rufiji River.
"How many things have you done that you know, with absolute certainty, you will remember for the rest of your life?ââ¬~ says Peter Boese, senior vice president of A&Kââ¬â¢s Extreme Adventures.
ââ¬ÅâIn the end, these experiences are all about providing the kind of memories that change the way we think about the world.ââ¬~
The first of A&Kââ¬â¢s extraordinary new adventures will take place later this year - an extreme walking safari in Tanzaniaââ¬â¢s Selous, Africaââ¬â¢s largest protected wilderness and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
After that, the programme will include mountain trekking to Everest Base Camp; climbing Mount Kilimanjaro; following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia on desert expeditions in Egypt and Jordan; satisfying a need for speed in South Africa with a supersonic 50,000ft climb in a Hunter Hawker jet; tackling nature at its most challenging, navigating the vigorous Canning River in Alaska and arriving at the South Pole on skis.
Every expedition will be led by an experienced A&K Extreme Adventure guide.
