Travel website Travelzoo is seeing older, wealthier subscribers using its email products as it celebrates its one millionth user of its UK publications.
The site, which publishes deals from operators as diverse as Mark Warner, African Safari Club and British Airways, has seen an increase of 29% in subscribers in the last year (230,000) and says the percentage of subscribers over 55 is now 34%, up from 24% in 2006 while subscriber households with incomes over Ãpound;80,000 went up from 6% to 11% in the last 12 months.
Managing director for Travelzoo in Europe Chris Loughlin said: ââ¬ÅâWe are delighted to achieve this milestone in the UK. With over one million high-quality UK subscribers, Travelzoo is able to generate significantly more incremental demand for travel advertisers. As the UK economy has slowed, we have seen subscriber demand for special offers increase. This is reflected in higher click-through rates and the increase in subscribers who say they have booked an offer that they found in Travelzoo Top 20 newsletter.ââ¬~
