Travelrepublic has signed a three-year deal with Worldspan, part of the Travelport GDS, in the first step to expanding globally and in other European destinations.
The online retailer has grown rapidly selling charters, low-cost flights and accommodation in the short-haul market but is keen to grow beyond those markets.
Travelrepublic managing director Paul Furner said: ââ¬ÅâOur plans are to build a global product offering and to launch the brand in other European markets.
ââ¬ÅâThe agreement with Worldspan is a hugely important milestone as we work towards achieving those goals.ââ¬~
In 2007, travelrepublic topped the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list as the UKââ¬â¢s fastest growing privately-owned company, with annual sales growth of over 284 per cent.

Travelrepublic has grown massively in the last few years it seems. This is because its basically an agent using 3rd parties to provide the services and earns commission from suppliers. I recently booked my honeymoon through travelrepublic.co.uk, unfortunately it turned out to be a nightmare. I requested a refund for the trauma caused however one hotel supplier compensated me the airline refused. Even though i got a refund TR took thier commission from the refund! The dispute is ongoing. Since TR does NOT provide package holidays you are not protected by the Package holiday regulations.
