NEW YORK - Perhaps airline tickets sold by the pound is a facetious idea but what else can be sold? Try a pillow and blanket set.
JetBlue Airways says its latest offering goes for $7, and passengers can keep it. Itââ¬â¢s a 10-by-12 inch pillow and a fleece blanket, which fits into a carrying case.
The trend contnues. Last week, US Airways began charging $1 for coffee and tea and $2 for bottled water and soft drinks.
JetBlue put a ââ¬Åâgreenââ¬~ spin on their move, saying it was an ââ¬Åâeco-consciousââ¬~ decision to sell ââ¬Åâeco-friendly products.ââ¬~
JetBlue will no longer offer free pillows and blankets.
But passengers can take it home if they buy a set.
Could the much-ridiculed ticket-by-the-pound idea resurface?
