Adventures have commenced in Australiaââ¬â¢s spectacular Red Centre with Alice Springs hosting the extraordinary Henley-On-Todd dry river regatta this weekend.
This iconic Australian event runs through the warm, red heart of Australia and on Saturday August 30, spectators will gather to laugh and cheer as local and international participants race in bottomless "eights", "oxford tubs", "bath tubs" and yachts through the deep coarse sand of the dry Todd River.
The Henley-On-Todd regatta dates back to 1962 and is today one of the world's most unique sporting events.
The boats race side-by-side in the pursuit of glory, while vendors host food and variety stalls to entertain the crowds. The event includes an extravagant Grand Parade, which is a highlight not to be missed.
