Tiger Airways leads the pack with the best on time performance in Australia

Tiger Airways Australia has again led the pack when it comes to airline on time performance with the best OTP of any of the major domestic airlines and recorded 0 cancelations for the month.

The Commonwealth Governmentââ¬â¢s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Infrastructure found in its latest Airline on time performance statistics that:

ââ¬ÅâœOf the major domestic airlines, Tiger Airways achieved the highest level of on time departures for July 2008 at 85.7 per cent, while Virgin Blue achieved 74.2 per cent, Jetstar 66.6 per cent, and Qantas 62.8 per cent. MacAir was the best performing regional airline with 82.8 per cent departures on time, followed by QantasLink (80.8 per cent), Regional Express (79.2 per cent) and Skywest (73.2 per cent).

Tiger Airways was also the best performing major domestic airline for on time arrivals at 86.8 per cent, with Virgin Blue at 69.7 per cent, Qantas at 63.6 per cent, and Jetstar at 62.2 per cent. MacAir was also the best performing regional airlines for on time arrivals at 85.0 per cent, followed by QantasLink (78.5 per cent), Regional Express (74.3 per cent) and Skywest (71.3 per cent).

Shelley Roberts Managing Director of Tiger Airways said ââ¬Å✠Since Tiger started reporting its on time performance it has consistently put the incumbent airlines to shame.  The message from the official government statistics for travellers is if you want the lowest fares and the most reliable service then fly Tiger Airwaysââ¬~
