The Foreign Office is still advising against all non-essential travel to Cuba due to dangerous weather conditions.
Hurricane Ike, now downgraded to a category 1 storm, continues to sweep across western Cuba today and was expected to hit the south eastern gulf of Mexico last night.
A tropical storm warning remains in effect for the Florida Keys.
