Ryanair postpones Edinburgh opening due to Boeing strike

Strike action at Boeing has forced Ryanair to postpone the opening of its Edinburgh base.

It has deferred the September 23 opening date for six weeks until November 5 because Boeing is unable to deliver new aircraft for new Edinburgh routes.

Ryanairââ¬â¢s deputy chief executive Michael Cawley said: ââ¬ÅâœWe sincerely regret the postponement of the opening of our Edinburgh base but unfortunately the two new aircraft, which we had reserved for this purpose, are now indefinitely delayed due to a strike by Boeing employees.ââ¬~

ââ¬ÅâœPassengers who were booked to travel on our new routes during this initial six-week period will be refunded over the next seven days.

ââ¬ÅâœWe sincerely apologise to all our passengers for the inconvenience caused by this forced change to our schedule.ââ¬~
