Third operator in a week collapses

Turkey specialist K&S Travel became the third operator in less than a week to go under when it ceased trading on Saturday.

The failure of the company, which had 150 people away on holiday and 400 forward bookings, came a day after XL Leisure Group went into administration and just three days after Seguro Travel went under.

The Civil Aviation Authority said the K&S holidaymakers overseas will be able to continue their holidays as normal as their flights are covered by a bond.

But those booked to travel will have their holidays cancelled and receive refunds.

Bond! If there are 150 vacationers able to continue their holidays as normal because their flights are covered by bonding what will it take to get the UK government to move and for travellers to get smart and obtain travel from bonded / protected sources. Additionally, the directors and officers of failed companies should be criminally charged with fraud if it is proven that they accepted payment for travel after they were reasonably aware that they could not deliver the services. Only when executives freedom is on the line will passengers interests come first.
