Luxury line Regent Seven Seas Cruises is to spend $40 million refurbishing its three ships following passenger feedback.
Work will start in December on Seven Seas Voyager, followed by Seven Seas Mariner in January 2009 and Seven Seas Navigator in the first half of 2010.
Almost every area of the ships will be refurbished, with public rooms being re-designed with new furniture, according to the company.
The revamp of Seven Seas Voyager and Mariner will include a new steakhouse replacing an Asian restaurant, and new lounge and dining areas around the Pool Grill and more casual dining options with the addition of pizza ovens and an ice cream bar.
UK managing director Graham Sadler said: ââ¬ÅâThis is an exciting time for Regent, with a new ship on the way and with the extensive refurbishment onboard, Regentââ¬â¢s ultra-luxury offering reinforces the recent awards we have received for being the world most luxurious cruise company.ââ¬~
Frank Del Rio, chairman of Prestige Cruise Holdings, RSSCââ¬â¢s parent company, said: ââ¬ÅâThis significant investment not only demonstrates our commitment to our guests and the bright future of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand, it elevates the experience to new heights and provides a glimpse of what the future holds.ââ¬~
