WTM partners British Travel Awards

World Travel Market has again agreed to be an official partner of the British Travel Awards.

Previously held on the night of the last Thursday of WTM, the awards ceremony will be staged a week earlier this year on November 6.

WTM chairman Fiona Jeffery said: ââ¬ÅâœWTM is a four day b2b event with a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors on show, and the British Travel Awards, with its established reputation as the largest independent awards ceremony for the industry in the UK, is an appropriate partner.

"We want to associate with the awards to convey the vibrant must-attend experience that WTM has to offer.

ââ¬ÅâœWe have introduced some new ideas and delegate-experiences to WTM this year - including the very focussed ââ¬Ëœinvitation onlyââ¬â¢ exhibitor invitee opening day on Monday 10 November. Our presence at The British Travel Awards is a great way of launching these initiatives first-hand to the senior professionals of our industry.ââ¬~

British Travel Awardsââ¬â¢ CEO Lorraine Barnes Burton said: ââ¬ÅâœWhilst the awards gathers the views and opinions of a wide cross section of travelling consumers in the UK during the months leading up to 6th November, on the night of the event itââ¬â¢s all about networking and business to business interaction.

ââ¬ÅâœPreviously we held the awards on the last night of WTM, but by then everyone is sick of the sight of each other ââ¬' and frankly, networked and partied out.

ââ¬ÅâœFiona and I agreed that to stage the awards in the week prior to WTM would ensure that we werenââ¬â¢t competing for the attention of industry colleagues in what is already a busy quarter for the sector.

ââ¬ÅâœAs an official trade partner to The British Travel Awards and sponsors of the opening ceremony and WTM Deck Bar, they effectively have a ready-made launch party at their disposal and the opportunity to officially welcome those senior colleagues who will undoubtedly be attending WTM week.ââ¬~
