Less than a third of Advantage companies represented at conference

Less than 100 of Advantageââ¬â¢s 360 member companies were represented at its conference in Sitges at the weekend.

In terms of delegate numbers, it was the biggest turnout since 1995, which was the last time Advantage held its own conference. Since then, Advantage has held a joint conference with Triton.

In 1995 in Sorrento the Advantage conference attracted 420 delegates and at this year's conference there were around 500, with around half suppliers.

Many agencies were represented by more than one person, and Advantage chief executive John McEwan was unable to confirm how many actual member companies were represented.

But a count-up of the company names listed in the conference programme showed that just under 100 companies were present.
