The Association of Womenââ¬â¢s Travel Executives (AWTE) will introduce two achievement awards this year in memory of the associationââ¬â¢s co-founder Joan Richardson.
The awards will be judged by award sponsors Teletext Holidays and Gail Kenny Executive Search and recognise achievement from both within and outside AWTE.
The Chairmanââ¬â¢s Award will recognise an AWTE member who has made an outstanding contribution to the travel industry or the Association.
To compliment this, an award will also be made to a ââ¬Ënewcomerââ¬â¢ to the industry, aimed at women who have entered travel and tourism in the last three years, and created impact in the business.
Submissions should be received by October 13.
AWTE chairman Tricia Handley said: ââ¬ÅâReward and recognition are key motivational factors for the business. By using the legacy left by Joan we can recognise some of the outstanding women in our industry and create a forum for further development.ââ¬~
The awards will be presented at the Chairmanââ¬â¢s Lunch on October 21, at the Chesterfield hotel, Mayfair, London.
