Accommodation firm Bluebookonline has collapsed, blaming "difficult trading conditions".
The company, part of Worldwide Tailor Made Holidays based in Tonbridge in Kent, ceased trading yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).
A message on the company website said: ââ¬ÅâWe regret to advise that, due to difficult trading conditions, the company ceased trading at 4.00pm on Tuesday October 7th 2008.
ââ¬ÅâAgents who have prepaid for arrangements yet to commence should contact the trustee of the trust account: Mr P. R. M. Reader FFA, Marryat Reader & Co, 62a King Harold's Way, Bexleyheath, Kent DA7 5QZ.ââ¬~
The failure came the week that major consolidation and takeovers in the accommodation-only sector was predicted.
The company, founded by managing director Philip Read,Ã~had recently become a preferred supplier to Advantage Travel Centres.
It also had international call centres in Ireland and Cairo and promoted discountedÃ~accommodation, transfers and sightseeing trips.
Other brands included USA Tailor Made Holidays and similar brands offering holidays to Canada, the Caribbean and Australia.Ã~
