CWT buys Spanish agency

Carlson Wagonlit Travel has purchased Spanish travel agency, Viajes Lepanto.

The agency has annual sales volume of â'š~¬16 million, with 62% of that coming from business travel and the remaining 38% from meetings and events..

The move brings eight new locations into CWTââ¬â¢s network in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, giving it a total of nearly 170 offices in Spain.

Viajes Lepanto general manager Javier Cabello will continue in his role, reporting directly to Marino Faccini, CWT executive vice president, Spain, Mediterranean and Latin America.

Faccini said: ââ¬ÅâœThe acquisition of Viajes Lepanto, like that of Viajes MAPFRE in the first quarter of this year, reflects the importance of strategic acquisitions in our development plan here in Spain and on a global level.ââ¬~
