Royal Caribbean International will become the second major cruise line to base a ship in Dubai.
The US line is following Costa Cruises by deploying the ship Brilliance of the Seas in the emirate from 2010.
The ship will run seven-night sailings from Dubai, with details yet to be confirmed.
Cruises will run between January and April 2010.
Senior vice president international Michael Bayley said: "Dubai is a dynamic and thriving city that shows great growth potential.
ââ¬ÅâBuilding on our reputation for introducing revolutionary cruise experiences, we are excited to provide a different cruise vacation than traditionally offered in this region.ââ¬~
Rama Rebbapragada, regional vice president, international sales and marketing, added: "We continue to win devotees from throughout the Middle East and are pleased to have exceeded our 2008 sales target for the region, achieving significant growth over last year."
