Globus has launched a bumper Europe and Britain brochure for 2009, unveiling new tours, new destinations and a new style of touring amid increased demand for its holidays.
With sales of its 2008 European tours up 27 per cent, Globus has released more than 80 different tour options for 2009, with hundreds of departures throughout every season.
To mark the program's release, Globus is offering Earlybird Savings* of $450 per couple on tours of 10-15 days and $600 per couple on tours of 16 days or more, when booked by December 15, 2008.
The 2009 tours span the whole of Europe - from Portugal to Turkey and Sicily to Lapland. Included are Europe's exotic neighbours Morocco and Egypt, as well as the remote volcanic beauty of Iceland.
The Globus Europe and Britain program draws on the company's 80-year experience in European touring, with flexible touring options and a choice of different holiday styles to suit different tastes.
Travellers can choose the pace they prefer, taking grand Panorama tours across multiple countries or Regional Discovery tours to focus on a particular culture or theme.
New for 2009 are the Globus Vignettes, a new style of holiday for a new generation of traveller. Four Vignettes holidays are available, offering a slower pace, more time in each city, inner-city hotels and the romance of European rail travel.
Globus Marketing Manager Australasia Christian Schweitzer said the Vignettes would appeal to a younger traveller, offering a more in-depth focus and more time to explore.
"Today's style of escorted travel has changed enormously and the Vignettes are the latest addition to a much more diverse and flexible range of tours from Globus," Mr Schweitzer said.
The Vignettes include an 11-day Best of Italy & France tour, featuring Rome, Venice, Pisa and Monte Carlo, then high-speed TGV train from Nice to Paris. Priced from $3219 per person twin share. Or there's the 11-day Enchanting Europe, travelling by Eurostar from London to Paris, then Lucerne, Innsbruck, Munich, Amsterdam and Brussels, including a Rhineland cruise, from $2949.
Among new additions to the Regional Discovery tours are a 10-day Essential Britain from $2129, a seven-day Italian Splendor from $2029 and a seven-day Taste of Greece from $1369. Globus has also introduced new Cruise & Tour holidays, including the six-day Aegean Legends with three-night cruise among the isles of Greece and Turkey, from $1269, and an 11-day Portugal River Cruise with seven-night cruise on the Douro, from $2689.
Back for 2009 are Globus's best-selling Panorama Tours, including seven-day European Sampler through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and France, from $1829 and the 24-day Europe in Depth with the additional destinations of Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy, France and Spain, from $4989.
