Hiltonââ¬â¢s Vincent takes on Europe role

Hilton UK boss Simon Vincent has been promoted to the role of area president, Europe.

Vincent, previously president of Hilton UK and Ireland, takes on the newly expanded role as a result of Hilton's move to combine the two former geographical areas, of Hilton UK and Ireland and Europe, into one enlarged combined region.

Wolfgang Neumann, former area president of the European business, is leaving the company at the end of November after 24 years.

The new consolidated Europe region includes 165 hotels, more than 42,500 rooms and 31 countries.

Vincent joined Hilton in January 2007 to lead the UK and Ireland business having previously worked at Midland Bank, Thomas Cook and Opodo.

Hilton president of global operations Ian Carter said: "I am delighted that Simon has taken on this new role and that he will be leading the Europe business during what is a very exciting time in our history.

ââ¬ÅâœEurope is a key strategic growth area for Hilton, with the company planning to open more than 150 hotels over the next 10 years."
