Crystal Cruises is reducing the capacity of one of its ships by adding more penthouse suites.
Twelve deluxe balcony cabins on Crystal Serenity are to be converted into eight 403-square-foot Penthouse staterooms.
The alterations will be made when the vessel enters drydock in Portugal on November 10
The work is due to be completed by November 21 when the ship departs Lisbon en route to Miami in time to run winter Panama Canal and Caribbean cruises.
The multi-million dollar revamp will see Crystal Serenity offering 72 Penthouses (category PH), as well as 32 Penthouse Suites (PS) and four 1,345-square-foot Crystal Penthouses (CP).
Four of the new Penthouses connect with category AA deluxe balcony cabins.
The shipââ¬â¢s revamp will also see a redesign of the Crystal Cove area surrounding the atrium with a fresh and open layout and round bar.
New equipment will be introduced to the casino while more than 15% extra dance floor space is being added to the shipââ¬â¢s Stardust Lounge. Smoking will also be banned in this area after dinner.
