SIA lowers fuel surcharges again

Singapore Airlines is lowering its fuel surcharges for travellers in business and economy class, across all routes, for tickets issued on or after November 7.

It is the second time since September that the airline has reduced its surcharges.

Currently, charges are the same in all cabins, but from Friday they will vary depending on class.

In business class, charges will be reduced to US$32 for flights from Singapore to South East Asia, $105 to Europe and South Africa, $175 to North America and $90 to all other destinations.

In economy, passengers will now pay $28, $95, $170 and $85 respectively.

First class passengers will continue to pay the current charge of US$36, $110, $180 and $100.

But SIA stressed that the fuel surcharges only partially offset the increased expenditure on jet fuel.

It said it would keep jet fuel prices under constant review, as they remain volatile.
