Former Holiday Express managing director Robin Sutherland has been named as vice president, retail at online travel experience company Isango.
His appointment comes the week that Holiday express parent company Travelzest outsourced the Holiday Express online brands flight.co.uk and holiday.co.uk to the On Holiday Group (see previous TravelMole story).
Sutherland was previously retail director at Expedia where he was responsible for the commercial performance of the companyââ¬â¢s UK business.
He will be responsible for core business functions such as usability, SEO, new product-development and online marketing, brand building and above the line marketing.
Isango co-founder and CEO Ranjan Singh said: ââ¬ÅâRobin brings a wealth of experience in online travel, including 6 years with Expedia where I had the pleasure to work alongside him.
ââ¬ÅâI am excited about the prospect of working with him again and utilising his experience and strong industry skills to take our business forward.
ââ¬ÅâHe joins at a pivotal time for Isango as we consolidate our position as the default online brand for travel experiences.ââ¬~
Sutherland said: ââ¬ÅâDestination services as a category has enormous potential due to the market size and the growing demand for experiential travel.ââ¬~
