A senior management reshuffle at Amadeus will see David Jones take over as president and CEO on January 1.
Existing president JosÃ~© Antonio TazÃ~³n, who has held the position since October 1990, will become non-executive chairman of the Amadeus Board of Directors on the same date.
Jones has headed up Amadeus global commercial operations since 1992, working side by side with TazÃ~³n.
TazÃ~³n said: "As I step down from the CEO role it gives me great peace of mind to pass my responsibilities to such an experienced business manager as David Jones.
ââ¬ÅâLike all companies we feel the pressure of the world economic downturn, and at times like this it is vital to have the leaders in place that will drive us through to the better times, and future success. David is such a leader."
Chief financial officer Luis Maroto will take the role of deputy CEO, also taking responsibility for Amadeus' corporate strategy.
He remains CFO of the Amadeus Group, a role he has held since 2003.
Philippe ChÃ~©rÃ~¨que, currently senior vice president corporate strategy, will become executive vice president commercial to replace Jones.
ChÃ~©rÃ~¨que has been with Amadeus since the creation of the company in 1987.
