United Airlines has signed a two-year extension of its current full-content agreement with Sabre Travel Network.
The airlineââ¬â¢s agreement was to run until 2011 but will now run until 2013.
This means all United published fares and inventory, including any published fares sold through a third party, are available to subscribers of the GDS.
Sabreââ¬â¢s chief operating officer Hugh Jones hailed the agreement as proof that the GDS model was still held in high regard by airlines as an indispensable distribution channel.
He said: ââ¬ÅâThis mutually beneficial agreement shows that United Airlines believes in the value of this distribution channel and the current GDS model, thatââ¬â¢s why they are in the Sabre GDS today and why they want to continue that participation.ââ¬~
He added: ââ¬ÅâThis agreement extension assures all Sabre Connected travel agents that they will have efficient access to Unitedââ¬â¢s full content for quite some time.ââ¬~
