Gulf Air and Cathay resume Bangkok flights

Gulf Air and Cathay Pacific plan to resume flights to and from Bangkok from Friday.

But the resumption of Gulf Air flights is subject to the security clearance of the Bangkok airport and the complete functioning of all computerised equipment.

This follows the announcement by the Airports Authority of Thailand (AOT) that Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport will be reopened for normal operations from today.

Gulf Air commenced a special operation to Phuket Airport on December 3 and 4 departing Phuket at 0540 local time and arriving Bahrain at 0840 local time on these days.

A third flight scheduled to operate from Phuket on December 5 has been cancelled.

The Gulf Air Bangkok office has been working to provide transport arrangements from Bangkok to Phuket by road to transfer passengers holding confirmed seats.

Cathay will operate four flights from Hong Kong to Bangkok and three flights from Bangkok to Hong Kong each day on Friday and Saturday.

A special flight operating on Friday to and from Utapao Airport, south of Bangkok, will instead operate to and from Bangkok.

Arrangements will be made for passengers already booked on this special flight to return to Hong Kong on one of the airlineââ¬â¢s flights from Bangkok.
