Winterburn fulfilment venture joins Hays

Former AU Logistics founder Garry Winterburn ex-Calls Online co-owner Lindsey Winterburn have joined the Hays Travel Independence Group.

The husband and wife team have formed Contemporary Travel Solutions providing virtual and office-based call centre fulfilment for operators and agents.

Garry Winterburn was until recently a main board director and shareholder of Au Logistics, which was sold to its main competitor, Orbital Marketing Services, in December.

Lindsey Winterburn was previously co-owner of Calls Online formed in 2003 with Steve Endacott operating travel related fulfilment contracts.

Calls Online was sold to The Global Travel Group in 2004 and she stayed with the company until leaving last year to launch Contemporary Travel Solutions.

Garry Winterburn said: "Basically, there are many people wanting to cut fixed costs and reduce overheads so if they outsource their reservations or sales calls to us we will only charge them on a booking basis. We have a growing team of homeworkers with a wealth of travel experience and we are focusing on offering a high quality service.

"In addition to fulfilment we are looking at growing a local client base as we have a lot of contacts in Cheshire and Merseyside and both Lindsey and I have strong marketing backgrounds.

"Our decision to join the Hays Travel Independence Group was a straight forward one, having known John Hays on a personal level for many years and having worked with him during my tour operator days, I knew that what was promised would be delivered.

"From our first meeting in 2008 it was evident that our contribution to the group would be welcomed and furthermore, their plans for development suited our own goals."
