Club Med in agent holiday givaway

Club Med is offering free holidays for agents in its first peak booking period incentive campaign for the trade.

Agents have the opportunity to earn themselves a week-long break anywhere in the world for those making bookings by the end of February.

The booking incentive is part of a two-stage, early booking bonus.

Consumers who book during stage one, until 28 February 28, could save up to £450 on a summer family trip to a short haul destination or up to £600 for long haul destinations.

This represents savings of up to £200 per adult and £100 per child for long haul destinations and £150 per adult and £75 per child for short haul destinations.

A newly developed child pricing strategy means that for summer 2009, children up to five years go free, while those aged six to 11 travel at a discount of 60%.

Club Med UK head of sales Steve O’Loughlin said: "Agents are key to Club Med’s success so in 2009, we are taking even more initiatives to support them.

"From training schemes in the South East to the introduction and extension of agent incentives, Club Med want to demonstrate how committed they are in a time when competitors are cutting back on activity.

"Club Med’s new agent’s incentive for example - offering agents the chance to earn a Club Med holiday - will give agents the opportunity to sample the product they sell for themselves."

The all inclusive operator’s new summer 2009 brochure features newly renovated resorts including Gregolimano, Greece; Napitia, Italy; La Pointe Aux Canonniers, Mauritius and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The developments are part of a global renovation programme as part of a repositioning strategy to create a more aspirational experience termed "friendly luxury," according to the company.
