Cruise review site unveils top performers

Cruise review site, www.cruise.co.uk, has unveiled its top performers, based on reviews by over 10,000 cruise passengers.

Over the last year, the website has looked to build a guide to cruising around the world, completely generated by UK users.

In 2008 the site had over 2.5 million visitors, with reviewers answering more 25,000 frequently asked questions and displaying over 4,000 photos.

Visitors to the website are asked to rate the operators and their ships in eight different categories, including best ship, best cruise line, best accommodation, best service and best for families.

Each category is rated from one to five stars and average scores are continually updated as new reviews are added.

The January 2009 top performers are:

Best Ship - Oceania Insignia - score 4.55 out of 5

Best Cruise Line - Cunard - 4.36 out of 5

Best Accommodation - Costa Mediterranea - 4.75 out of 5

Best Entertainment - Independence of Seas - 4.37 out of 5

Best Food - Oceania Insignia - 4.77 out of 5

Best Service - Oceania Insignia - 4.86 out of 5

Best for Families - Independence of the Seas - 4.28 out of 5

Best Shore Excursion - Star Princess - 4.22 out of 5.

www.cruise.co.uk managing director Seamus Conlon said: ââ¬ÅâœThe current results show that brands like Cunard and Royal Caribbean are being rated consistently high in all categories, which will help potential cruisers researching which cruise line to go with.ââ¬~
