Egencia recruiting in the UK

Egencia is to recruit in the UK after winning new business in the last two quarters.

UK vice president Christophe Peymirat said the fourth quarter of 2008 and the first of 2009 had seen a number of new client wins.

ââ¬ÅâœWe were really careful with recruitment at the beginning of the year, and took a very cautious approach, but when we look at the level of signatures we have in the last two quarters, we will need to recruit soon,ââ¬~ he said.

The Expedia-owned company will recruit in customer facing roles, including consultants and account managers.

However, Peymirat would not say how many new positions were available.

ââ¬ÅâœWe are performing very strongly in the UK market and we are included in most tenders now,ââ¬~ he added.

At the Business Travel Show in London this week, Egencia launched The Travel Academy, a training programme designed to help travel bookers cope with an increasingly demanding marketplace.
