Crown pushes ahead with third hotel in Melbourne

MELBOURNE ââ¬' Crown is pushing ahead with its third hotel in Melbourne, due to open in early 2010.

At an estimated cost of A$300 million, the new hotel is being built at the pace of one floor every six days.

The new hotel will include Gordon Ramseyââ¬â¢s first Australian Maze restaurant.

Crown Towers, meanwhile, is currently close to completion of a major re-enhancement project that includes the extensive renovation and refurbishment of the hotelââ¬â¢s rooms and suites, as well as introducing a new look and style to the hotelââ¬â¢s ground floor lobby.

Across the road from the Crown Towers, the Crown Promenade Hotel has consistently claimed the honours for Melbourneââ¬â¢s best deluxe hotel in local tourism awards and has been inducted into the Victorian Tourism Hall of Fame.

By adding Crownââ¬â¢s yet to be named third hotel, the complex will have 1,600 rooms available for conference organisers and event planners.

And in early 2010 Crown will open an extension to the Crown Conference Centre, enabling the centre to cater for conferences up to 800 delegates with 20 concurrent rooms on one site
