Susan Hooper headhunted by Saga

Former Royal Caribbean Cruise Line European boss Susan Hooper is to take charge of the travel division of Saga Group.

She is due to join the company this month as chief executive of the travel arm of the over-50s company which carries around 250,000 passengers a year on land-based holidays and cruises.
Hooper left Royal Caribbean, where she was EMEA managing director, last September after four years and was headhunted for the Saga position.
Her new remit will include Saga Cruises and the company’s adventure cruise offshoot Spirit of Adventure.
She is replacing Ian Coghlan, who is moving to another position within the Saga Group, which encompasses insurance and finance, a publishing arm, direct-mail and telephone service.
Coghlan, a former managing director of Abercrombie & Kent, has run the Saga travel division since 2005.
Saga Group merged with the AA, the UK motorists' association, in 2007.
