LONDON ââ¬' TravelMole UKââ¬â¢s story last week about the move by Ryanair to charge passengers a pound to use the onboard toilets ââ¬' an initiative Ryanair admits it has discussed internally but discarded ââ¬' brought some interesting replies from TravelMole subscribers.
We especially liked this response from Keith Standen, who wondered whether Ryanair had thought to charge for oxygen masks and emergency evacuation slides. Keith went on,
ââ¬ÅâWhat about coin slots on the overhead lockers, the same on the seat back trays and the toilet soap dispensers (assuming, of course, you can afford to have a pee)?
ââ¬ÅâExtra charges for cabin crew that speak English 'clearly' or even for cabin crew at all. Of course, self-service flights - brilliant.
ââ¬ÅâExtra charges for taking off on time, extra for taking off at all.
ââ¬Åâ Oh god, somebody stop me!
ââ¬Åâ Hey Michael, (Oââ¬â¢Leary, Ryanair boss) Iââ¬â¢m quite good at this, any chance of a job?
ââ¬ÅâI'll pay you obviously."
Thanks, Keith, we're sure Ryanair already has some of your suggestions under discussion.

So not many passengers travel without a pound coin? What about the Europeans who have Euros, and the Eastern Europeans who are outside the Eurozone? Will they have to exchange currency onboard to put the right coin in the slot or will there be multiple slots? And as we all know from the vending machines which go wrong, what will happen when the toilet coin slot jams up? Or that coin won't get accepted unless you spin it as you push it in?!!!

Can we just pee in the seat pocket in front of us? Then we don't have to pay for wear on the rug en route to the toilet. Also, the cheap paper from the mid-flight magazine can absorb the fluids without buying toilet paper! Damn, am I happy I don't fly around Europe! And I thought Asians were cheap! John "Caveman" Gray
