Thomas Cook to back 2010/11 cruise programme launches

All Thomas Cook branches are to run preview evenings to support the launch of 2010/11 cruise programmes

The Cruise Thomas Cook initiative will see branches host two preview evenings on March 16 and April 2 between 18.00-20.00.

The preview evenings will enable customers to pre-register their interest in 2010/11 cruises and have access to early booking discounts including a guaranteed 10% off when cruises go on sale in April.

One in 14 who took an all-inclusive holiday in 2008 spent it on a cruise ship, according to the company.

  • Such positive thinking!!

It's really heartening to read such a positive reaction from a TC employee!! TC are trying to improve their bookings and market share for the benefit of their shareholders and their employees. After all, no customers means NO JOBS At least, Mr Hood, you and your hard done by colleagues have a job - some of us are not so fortunate and would willingly swap places with you. Has no-one told you there's a recession on??

  • Yet another waste of time!

It's a shame Thomas Cook didn't ask their staff whether they wanted to participate in 1...sorry 3 cruise evenings before this item was published. If they had they would have found that no staff at the moment are that willing to work 2 extra hours for NO extra pay due to the current overtime ban! We have an offer to take the time in lieu, but as we can't get any overtime we all need the time at work when there are customers in the shop to actually make some incentives not 2 hours extra for no pay when as per usual there will be no customers in the shop as no-one ever turns up to these cruise evening...maybe all our cruise customers have come to one of our seemingly endless cruise weekends that we have been running to no avail since January. Hope Manny is enjoying his &#pound;7million as I can't afford to pay my gas bill!!
