Kenya cuts visa costs

 
Kenya is halving the cost of visas in an effort to aid a recovery in tourism to the country.

The visa cost is being reduced from $50 to $25 and with no cost for children under 16 from April 1 until the end of 2010.

 
A family of four will now pay $50 for the two adults, giving a saving of $150.
 
Tourism minister Najib Balala said the measure was to help make  Kenya even more appealing for visitors and to further attract the growing family market. 
 
"This scheme will help to keep costs down for all when planning a trip to our diverse country and particularly benefit those travelling with children," the minister said.
