Leading Hotels gets stricter

Leading Hotels of the World is tightening up on standards to bring its members in line with customer expectations.

The marketing and representation group for luxury hotels has changed its qualification criteria after a review.

Its new president and CEO Ted Teng said: ââ¬ÅâœBeing a new person I have an opportunity to look at the business with a fresh pair of eyes.

ââ¬ÅâœI suspect that as the demands of our consumers change and evolve, we will continue to evolve too.ââ¬~

He estimated that around 10-15% of members will find it more difficult to comply under the new regime.

ââ¬ÅâœWe will help them meet the standards where possible, but we do expect to see some fall off from hotels who decide itââ¬â¢s no longer feasible to keep up.ââ¬~
