Travel Alternative Golf Society outing

Paul (Smokey) Verhaak of SuperClubs and Lynne Brewin made a clean sweep of the main prizes at TAGS first golf outing of 2009 held at the Kingswood Golf Club, Surrey.

In difficult conditions, Verhaak won the competition by a clear six points from runner up Brewin who scored a very commendable 36 whilst also winning the longest drive.

In the team competition Verhaak was joined by Julian Mills of Amadeus and David Coates of Elmscott and again took first prize.

The token prize of nearest the pin was taken by Giles Harper.

TAGS has captured the zeitgeist of the era and membership, for both men and women, is now almost full.

Fred Bickmore, of the Golf Marketing Company, who is a member of 'another' industry golf society, was heard to comment: "It’s nice to be part of a Travel Industry Golf society where the members actually work in the industry."

The society supports the Royal Marsden Hospital and has already sent almost £1,000 to the charity.

TAGS’ next outing is at Ifield Golf Club near Gatwick on June 22.
