Steven Freudmann has resigned from ABTAââ¬â¢s board and also stepped down as chairman of the membership and code of conduct committee.
Freudmann, a former ABTA president, said: ââ¬ÅâBecause of the uncertainty and publicity surrounding the recent failure of Unpackaged Holidays Ltd, I have decided to step down in the interests of ABTA.
ââ¬ÅâI am very keen that these events do not create a distraction for ABTA and its members.ââ¬~
ABTA president Justin Fleming said: ââ¬ÅâWe are extremely grateful for all that Steven has done for ABTA over many years.
ââ¬ÅâWe regret that this situation has arisen, and have accepted his resignation.ââ¬~

Suppliers to ABTA companies should be aware that there is no specific protection for them. ABTA is there to protect the consumer not the supplier.
