2,000 agents invited to Dubai for fam trips

Over 2,000 travel agents and tour operators from the UK and other countries have been invited to visit Dubai between March and May for a series of three-day familiarisation trips.

The move is part of a £10 million campaign, Keep Discovering Dubai, to showcase the region’s "accessibility, infrastructure and world-class hospitality".

The trips are being funded by the Government of Dubai, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Emirates Airline and Group, Dubai hoteliers and Destination Management Companies.

DTCM UK and Ireland director Ian Scott said: "As Dubai increases its offering of world-class hospitality, the emirate is the preferred holiday destination for tourists from around the world.

"And as Dubai continues to evolve, so it has developed a broad spectrum of hotels to suit all tastes and budgets, all of which retain the high standards that visitors have come to expect."

He said the UK remains the largest source market to Dubai.
