AirNorth mulls return of Darwin-Bali flights

DARWIN - AirNorth is considering reintroducing flights between Darwin and Bali following Garuda Indonesia's decision to pull out of the Territory.

The decision by Garuda to suspend Darwin flights after 28 years flying the route has left only Jetstar offering a Bali service from the Northern Territory.

AirNorth has just received its second Embraer E170 jet, which it plans to use to expand its regional flight network.

Marketing manager Marie-Claire Cull said the airline was in discussions to recommence flights to Bali, despite scrapping their flights in January this year.

"The question is if we will return," she said.

"We are looking at Malaysia, the Philippines, parts of Indonesia and Pacific island states."

But, according to the Northern Territory News Air Northââ¬â¢s partnership with Qantas - the sister-airline of Jetstar - may stand in the way of Darwin-Bali flights.
