DUBAI - Marriott International had affirmed its faith in the future of Dubai by signing a deal to open Park Towers, its first JW Marriott Marquis luxury brand outside of North America and only the second one in the world.
Marriott’s first Marquis-branded property will open next year in Miami.
The first of the hotel’s twin towers will open in 2011 and a second tower two years later. The glass-clad building will become a key landmark in Dubai’s new mini-Manhattan business district on Sheik Zayed Road.
Marriott will manage the hotel for owners Emirates airline and group.
Marriott International managing director for international lodging, Ed Fuller, said he expected the new hotel "to quickly become the finest address in Dubai" - which is saying something given the number of luxury hotels operating and under development in the emirate.
