House of Lords to debate UK tourism


The growth of the UK tourism industry will be a subject of debate in the House of Lords on Thursday.

The Labour Partyââ¬â¢s Lord Pendry will open the debate calling attention to opportunities for tourism growth and the sectorââ¬â¢s greater contribution to all parts of the economy.

Lord Carter of Barnes will speak on behalf of the Government.

Other members scheduled to take part include Earl of Sandwich (Crossbench), a writer and researcher on international development, Baroness Valentine (Crossbench), chief executive of London First and Lord Howard of Rising (Conservative); spokesperson for Culture, Media and Sport.

The House will sit at 11am for questions and the debate will follow.
