Budget airline Jet2.com is to start flying from Newcastle the Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh.
Weekly flights will run from October 17 to the Red Sea destination with prices starting at £89.99 one way including taxes.
The airline already runs 14 routes from Newcastle.
The airline’s chief executive Philip Meeson said: "Sharm el Sheikh is proving to be an increasingly popular destination for UK tourists who flock there for guaranteed, year round sunshine, the spectacular sites and scenery of Egypt."
