Online AA passengers can now use Paypal

American Airlines says it has become the first US airline to allow online international customers to pay their fare using Paypal.

Customers buying online at www.aa.com began using the payment system on May 28.

American joins Monarch and Jet2.com as the only airlines currently accepting PayPal for customers booking flights in the UK.

PayPal enables customers to pay for transactions using a credit or debit card, bank account or PayPal account balance. Purchases are quick and easy as there is no need for customers to enter any financial and billing information.

A benefit of PayPal acceptance for UK residents is that they can pay using a wider selection of debit cards than was possible directly through www.aa.com  Since debits cards are the preferred payment option in the UK, the move is expected to be widely welcomed by American’s customers.

Vice president sales and marketing EMEA  Maria Sebastian said: "American is committed to offering customers more choices and convenience when purchasing travel on www.aa.com and PayPal certainly fills that bill since it gives customers several options in funding their online purchase."
